Your Stay at Casa Rosa Three private rooms available: * Second Floor: * Room 1: One full-size bed, connects to our cozy sitting area with a spacious balcony overlooking the street—perfect for watching daily Cuban life in action. * Room 2: Two full-size beds, desk for working, ideal for couples, friends, or small families, with a small exterior balcony and seating. * Third Floor: * One full-size bed with stunning views of the bay and city. Opens directly to our third-floor terrace, with greenery, shade, and sunshine—ideal for relaxing or dining al fresco. All rooms include: * Private bathroom with shower * Bathroom essentials, including soap, towels, and hand towels * Air conditioning * Fan * Dimmable lighting * Safe for your valuables * Minibar for storing drinks, food, or medicine * Locally taken photography by one of the owners, available for purchase * Key(s) Guest Access Guests enter the house through the first floor, where our Cuban family lives. You’ll then head upstairs and have full access to your room, private bathroom, and the shared rooftop terrace—ideal for sunrises, sunsets, reading, dining and/or sipping a cocktail, or trying some of Cuba’s finest cigars. You’re welcome to hang out in common areas, and we’re always nearby if you need anything—or if you’d just like a drink and a chat. Other Things to Note * Filtered water and ice provided (LifeStraw system) We use LifeStraw water filtration systems to provide guests with safe, clean drinking water and ice—a major plus, especially when bottled water isn’t always available. * Free WiFi with two routers * Three local SIM cards available to rent for use while exploring * Home-cooked meals Our family prepares homemade Cuban meals using fresh, local ingredients, available with advance notice. Please keep in mind that food availability in Cuba can be limited. Fruits and vegetables are always fresh and organic, but only available in their natural seasons. If you have dietary needs or special requests, let us know during booking—we’ll do our best to accommodate you. * Cocktails available by request 🍹 Enjoy Authentic Handcrafted Cuban cocktails, made with care and the best local flavors. We offer a range of rums—from affordable favorites to premium selections—plus whiskey, vodka, gin, cream liqueur, vermouth, brandy, wine, and beer * Guests may request specific beverages in advance—we’ll do our best to have them ready before arrival, based on availability * Laundry service available * BBQ available: uses locally made charcoal, not briquettes * We can arrange taxis to/from Havana or Varadero airports, the beach, Coral Beach, Saturno Caves, or Varadero resorts * Smoking is allowed only in designated areas where it does not enter the house—never inside the rooms or interior spaces * Sunday market: If guests are interested, you can ask about accompanying your host to the local market, the best place to find fresh meat in town * Our meals are flavorful and well-seasoned, thanks to spices brought from abroad by one of the owners, a Canadian who travels regularly between Canada and Cuba * Important cultural note: If someone says “the food in Cuba is bland,” they’ve likely only been to a resort. To experience real Cuban food, you need to go inland, to the homes and kitchens of everyday Cubans. At Casa Rosa, you’re getting the real thing. * 💡 Electricity - While Cuba experiences periodic blackouts, Casa Rosa is on the same electrical circuit as a local hospital, so outages here are less frequent and typically shorter than in other parts of the city. Where You’ll Be: Matanzas Barrio, Matanzas, Cuba. A quiet, authentic neighborhood near the city center. Walk to local markets, historic sites, restaurants, and the scenic riverfront. We’re about a 30-minute walk from the sea, which is not a tourist beach—more local and quiet than resort-style. For classic beach days, we’ll help you get to Varadero or Coral Beach.
